Christa M. Morton, MA recently graduated from the Doctor of Psychology Program (Psy.D) in Clinical Psychology at Marshall University. In addition to being a full-time student, Morton was a graduate assistant with Housing and Residence Life at the university and is completed her 3rd year practicum requirements at Associates in Psychology and Therapy (APT), a private practice in Barboursville, WV.  She successfully defended her doctoral research project, which is titled STEM Psychoeducation, Self-Esteem, and Anxiety’s Impact on Female’s Career Choice, and she has presented two other poster presentations in health and clinical psychology at APA in August 2020.

Christa is originally from Calvert County, MD, and currently resides in Teays Valley, WV. She obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology in 2013 and her Masters of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology in 2015 both from Towson University, and practiced as a licensed Masters level Clinician for three years before returning to school to earn her doctorate. Christa has a passion for promoting West Virginia culture and resilience, helping people overcome trauma, reducing negative stereotypes, and improving the lives of the residents of this state. She plans to stay in West Virginia and become a licensed clinical psychologist.
