Carlie Enns, DDS
Carlie Enns grew up in Clearbrook, Virginia and graduated cum laude and an Honors Scholar from West Virginia University, where she majored in Biology and minored in Psychology and Business Administration. While enrolled, she participated, and held positions, in multiple organizations including president of both Pre-Dental Club and CRC campus, an Honors college delegate and mentor, an active member and volunteer at her church, and participated in numerous outreach and community service organizations like the Morgantown Boys and Girls Club.
Enns attended the WVU School of Dentistry where she has earned her DDS in Dentistry. Throughout dental school, she served as a student ambassador for the school, Delta Sigma Delta Scribe, Board member of the Project Smile Foundation, secretary of her class, CMDA treasurer and dental school representative, student research group class representative, and Pre-Dental club mentor. She also participated in multiple other organizations including ASDA, AGD, Orthodontic interest group, Tucker Gold Study Club, Pediatric Dentistry club, RHIG, SPEA, and continued her participation in many of the organizations she was involved in throughout her undergraduate experience. She sought even more volunteer opportunities with the WVARNG, Susan Dew Hoff Memorial Clinic, Special Smiles at the Special Olympics, Give Kids a Smile, and the Ronald McDonald House.
Concurrently, she is the recipient of several awards from National Dental Organizations, including: the Ralph J. “Buck” Rutledge Dentistry Scholarship Award, a two-time winner of the Pierre Fauchard Oral Health Scholarship, the Academy of Dental Materials Scholastic Achievement in Dental Material Award, the Dental Lifeline Network Outstanding Student Award, and the West Virginia Dental Alumni Association’s Dr. Robert Sausen Service Award.
Enns has been interested in working in the field of Dentistry from the time she started high school and is now on her way to achieving this dream. She has a great passion for helping patients understand the importance of a healthy smile, as well as finding the joy in their smile. Having completed dental school, Carlie plans to start an associateship in an underserved community outside of Huntsville, AL. She is interested in bringing dental care to those in need and believes that the Rural Community Health Scholars program has allowed her to learn more about how best to serve rural and underserved communities as a Dentist.
