Ateria Walker, a Wheeling, WV, native is entering her senior year at West Virginia University with a major in Nursing and minor in Addictions Studies. Post graduation, Ateria plans to work on a cardiac floor in the hospital - though, her end goal is to eventually go to graduate school to become a Nurse Anesthetist.
Ateria has enjoyed her experience in the Rural Community Health Scholars Program, and states that it allowed her to learn about the advantages and disadvantages of those who live in rural communities. With the knowledge she learned from this program, she is confident that she will be better able to car for her future patients.
